My Story

Originally I started my career in Accounting, then moved over to the technology industry in my 20's. And I have been a developer ever since. I have tried many other professions in between jobs too.

Then around 2015, work impacted my life in a major way. Being a long time employee of a large company that was acquired in a hostile takeover resulted in massive layoffs for existing staff. I struggled to get work due to ageism in the IT industry and I found I was retrenched or laid off another 4 times with large bouts of unemployment in-between over the next 5 years.

Then, I realized I would never have a decent career anymore due to my age so set about trying to start my own income instead of relying on others. During this time I turned our dog into an assistance dog and created a YouTube channel about him, and thus began my SEO journey.

Around this time I wrote some SAAS web apps in Python which didn't go anywhere, a fully stacked Rostering System and a document creation app. Being really frustrated, I created another YouTube channel about ageism which quickly became monetized, and was amazed to see many other people in the same position as me in this country and also abroad.

The only work I've been able to gather the last few years is little IT jobs here and there, mostly SEO at sub-standard wages, hence I got the idea of trying to make a real income out of this business, since I discovered doing work as a wholesaler to website creation firms that many don't understand SEO and hire specialists to do this job.

And here we are...

Experienced in IT

  • I have over 40 years experience in Technology including software development, Business Analysis, design, database design, testing and fault diagnosis. This background experience has helped give me a knowledge many website creators don't have.

  • I have touched upon and have a great wealth of background knowledge on the various technologies beyond websites and how they can be put to use for your business

  • I understand that not all solutions need a technical solution. I believe in simplicity to minimize outages, and sometimes the simplest method is to do it manually.

My Web Projects

Here are a few web apps that I have created in the last few years written in Python, Django and html.

  • A full Rostering app the specializes in rostering people according to a set of user-defined equity rules. There is almost no rostering app that does this.

  • A Word/PDF document creation web app that you save word templates to then create finished word or PDF documents from changing some specified meta data. Perfect for onboarding or legal documents where there are many documents that are the same from client to client apart from a few personal details that change. Minimize errors.
